Luke Chieco Obituary

A Memorial Service for Luke Chieco, 83, of Palm Coast, FL, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer, will be held at Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations, 39 Old Kings Rd. N., Palm Coast, FL 32137 on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations. Inurnment with military honors will be held immediately following the service at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 US-1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Luke was born on May 18, 1934 in New York, NY. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School in New York City. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy as a Machinist 3rd Class aboard the John R. Craig destroyer. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1956. Luke married the love of his life, Antoinette Messa Chieco, on June 14, 1959. He worked for many years at Western Electric in New York area. In 1969, he moved to Danbury, CT to raise his family, living there until he moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2004. Luke enjoyed watching NY Yankee baseball, traveling to Italy, making lemoncello, playing a good card game, going to the beach, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Besides his loving wife, Nettie, he is survived by his daughter Barbara Chieco Grevas and son-in-law Mark, daughter Michele Chieco Bailey and son-in-law Jason, and daughter Tara Chieco Radulski and son-in-law Dan. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Krista Grevas, Alison and Natalie Bailey, and Ethan and Dylan Radulski. Luke also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and family of the heart who will miss him dearly. His kind and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. He loved the ocean, but above all else he loved his friends and family.
