To Father Paul in Spirit,
You will always occupy a special place in my heart and in my spiritual life. Although we were at Epiphany for years before you arrived, thank you for welcoming my wife Cathy and me into Epiphany Church, and for the time you shared with us in our home. You, your concern, your prayers, and your love were an inspirtion to us.
My father and I built many churches as general contracor and engineers. Epiphany will always be very special for me, partly because Epiphany was the last church my father and I built together; he received several broken ribs and other injuries lifting one of the big beams into place above the pulpit area. I will never forget the loud snap, snap, snap, snap that sounded like pencils breaking in his shirt pocket as his ribs broke, but he continued lifting, and he put the beam into place on the big bolts. Then he climbed down and made his way outside to the walkway at the front of the church before he collapsed to the ground. Dad never recovered.
Father Paul, thank you for spending the past two hours with me in this payer and meditation. Your love, concern, and spiritual strength will always have a special place in our hearts. --Doyle Kennedy October 29, 2010, 11:59 PM

Father Kamide's obituary appeared today (Oct.21) in the Boston Globe so I'm late in expressing my condolences. Paul T. was my Latin teacher at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass, in the late 60s, my spiritual advisor when I struggled to determine if a religious life was in my future and a cheerleader when I decided to become a journalist instead. Simply put, he was a great guy and often wondered where he settled after being transferred from the college. I'm sure he was a great parish priest. May he rest in peace.

Father Paul came into my life when I needed God the most. Father Paul made me feel needed again and not to fret over the past. Father Paul was the reason I converted to Catholic and he listened to my first confession. When he took your hand you felt the presence of God in the room. To those he couldn't remember their names, they were Joseph and Mary. I will miss you my friend because there is now a void. "Fair Seas and Sailing Winds". I love you

Fr Paul with Our 3 boys, Deacon Bill, Inge, & myself
God, Your word says, 'You are a very present help in times of trouble...' Fr Paul's Family & Friends need Your help right now, for this is a time of trouble for them. Please let Your Presence become very real to them. I ask that you would lift the heaviness of their hearts, and that You would bear their burden of sorrow and begin to exchange it for peace and hope. Father, shower them with unexpected tokens of Your love, so they would know how much You really do care. God, we do not understand suffering, but we are grateful that You have promised to be with us in the midst of it. Let Your words be a comfort to his family & friends in this time of tears. 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.' In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen
I’m sure our youngest son (Gregory Whale Jr) is showing Father Paul around Heaven & introducing him to all his family as well... :-)
God Bless,
Chrissy Whale

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Fr. Paul. I live in Flagler County, Bunnell. I did not know that we had a Priest from northern New York living in this area. My daughter lives in Port Orange and I have been to mass there several times. I am so sorry to hear of his death. I use to live in Adams, NY.

We are so sorry we can not pay tribute to Fr. Paul in person. He was a great man. He helped my mom celebrate her 94th birthday and came to see her many times after she was in the nursing home. He will be in our hearts forever.

Father Paul was instrumental in helping my niece, Ashley remain in a private school thru donations, he also baptized her 7 years ago. The love, warmth and dedication of this man epitomizes God's love of each and every human being. God Bless you, Father Paul, you will be missed and will always hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts are with your family.

Fr. Paul presided at the funeral mass for my father on October 9, 1995 at Epiphany. I will always remember his gentle, kind, comforting manner at my family's time of grief and the other encounters we had with him over the years.
We send our love & prayers to all the family,
