Richard (B.B.) Eugene Bell

Richard (B.B.) Eugene Bell of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on April 28, 2020 from COVID-19 complications and other underlying health conditions.He was born in Gainesville, FL to the late Richard C. and Elizabeth M. Bell. His formal education began in Volusia County Public Schools. He was a graduate of Campbell Senior High School Class of 1967. He was an active player on the CSHS Centipede football, basketball and baseball teams. He continued his higher education at Lane College, Jackson, TN. For many years, B.B. was employed by both the Daytona Beach and Orlando International Airports. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the City of Daytona Beach Leisure Services Parks and Recreation Services. He later became the primary caregiver for his mother until her passing in 2013. B.B. was predeceased by his parents, infant son, Richard E. Bell, Jr. and grandson, Carlos Harris, Jr. He is survived by his loving daughters, Trellis Bell, Saidah Bell and Sakinah Bell; grandchildren, Amber Davis, Rory Davis, Jr., Chevin Davis, Zaniah Davis, Trory Davis, Kaamia Harris, Kamal Harris and Maalaylah Brunson; brothers, Lawrence (Maria) Bell and William Bell and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, the family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2020, Herbert Thompson Funeral Home, 901 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with only 10 persons allowed in the Chapel at any one time. Celebration of Life Services for Richard (B.B.) Eugene Bell will be held graveside on Saturday, May 9, 2020 , Greenwood Cemetery, 320 White Street, Daytona Beach, FL, 11:00 AM.
