Robert 'Bob' Lovelace, of Ormond Beach, passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Bob was born in Nutley, NJ on October 12, 1923. In 1943 he joined the Army Air Corp during WWII. The following year he married his one and only sweetheart, the former Joan Frazee. A few years later he served again in the Korean conflict. After that he spent 18 years at Fort Monmouth Motor Pool in Eatontown, NJ, accumulating many awards for implementing new ideas to make things better. While still working at the Fort he began a new career in building custom homes which allowed him to quit his government job and pursue what he enjoyed-building. He also became one of Jehovah's Witnesses during that time. In 1969 he moved his family to Ormond Beach where he and Joan have remained. Not yet ready to retire he got involved in designing dash kits for cars and motorcycles eventually starting his own business. He worked well into his 80's. You could always find him in a crowd-he was the one wearing a cowboy hat. Bob was predeceased by his son Michael who passed in 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Joan. His other three children, Ron, Chris and Robin, six grandchildren, Natasha, Jesse, Nicole, Kelly, Jennifer, and Rachel, seven great grand children. Funeral services will be at the Lohman Funeral home on Granada Ave., Ormond Beach, Saturday, October 13th at 2 PM.
