William F. Brady

Funeral servicefor William F. Brady, 82, Ormond Beach, who died at home Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond with the Rev. Bob Moorehead officiating. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the funeral home. Mr. Brady was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Scranton, Pa. He moved to Ormond Beach in 1977 from Middletown, Pa. Bill was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Pearl Harbor survivor, served on the USS Argonne, USS Antares, USS Attala and the USS Fargo and served in many of the major campaigns in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Brady was an insurance adjuster for Nationwide Insurance Company until his retirement, and then was an independent insurance adjuster until 1990. Bill was a member and past commander of VFW Post 1590, Daytona Beach, and American Legion Post 267, Ormond Beach. He was a member of American Legion Post 120, Holly Hill. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and watching Notre Dame football and the New York Yankees. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 18 years, Elizabeth; sons, Bill Brady Jr., Elliotsburg, Pa., Michael Brady, Harrisburg, Pa., Joseph Brady, New Bloomfield, Pa., Timothy Brady, Melbourne, and Shawn Brady, Ormond Beach; son by marriage, Bill Venter, Ormond Beach; daughters by marriage, Jill Sellers, Palm Coast, and Lee McNees, Warner Robins, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
