William Sam Yunick, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 27, 2008. Sam was born on August 23, 1966 in Daytona Beach. Sam was a graduate of Georgia State and began his journey as an entrepreneur in Atlanta, Georgia in August 1991. Sam and his wife, Sharon, started with one Subway franchise and built it into a successful business with five operations in the Atlanta area. Sam and Sharon returned to Jacksonville in 1996 where Sam started Sync, Inc. which currently employs over 95 people in its various operations. Sam is survived by his wife, Sharon Yunick; two sons, Michael and Patrick; and a daughter, Nicole. Sam is also survived by his brother, Steve Yunick, wife, Kathy Yunick; nieces, Kaylin and Erin Yunick; sister, Trisha Yunick; niece, Laurel Brown; nephew, Brayden Brown; and his aunt, Judy Knox Judge, all of Daytona Beach. Sam was the son of racing legend, Henry Smokey Yunick and Patricia Hankins Judge Yunick of Daytona Beach, both deceased. Sam is survived by Margie Yunick, his stepmother. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009 in Christ Episcopal Church, 400 San Juan Drive, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations may be made to Seamark Ranch, The Mission House, Jacksonville Beach, Florida or the Jacksonville Humane Society.
