Chessie Merrill Fenn
Chessie Merrill Fenn, age 82, passed away at home on February 18, 2013.He was born on July 9, 1930, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Wesley and Mabel Fenn. Chessie proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On July 27, 1952, he married Shirley Ann Paul, who preceded him in death. Chessie is survived by their children Cheryl (Malcom) Blackburn, Robert (Marcy) Fenn, and Sarabeth (J.D.) Edwards, grandchildren Alia (Casey) Slentz, Joshua (Jessica) Edwards, and Carissa (Randy) Stewart, and great-grandchildren Austin and Weslee Field, Jase Edwards, Arienna Slentz, and Cheyenne and Mariah Stewart.
Chessie retired from City Utilities. He was a long time member of Glenstone Baptist Church where he was the sound technician for many years and where he was known for taking youth groups camping and teaching them to water ski. Chessie was a faithful and dependable family man who loved taking his family camping and fishing and enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Chessie's special caregivers; Bonnie, Sandria, and Lisa. Memorial donations may be made to Glenstone Baptist Church, the Disabled American Vets, or to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel on Friday, February 22, at 12 pm with funeral service following at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 2 pm.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families. Your dad was a very funny guy and I loved that about him.

While I am sad to lose Merrill, I rejoice that he is with the Lord and those he loved that went before.

Chessie and I worked togeather at The James River Power Plant and I really appreciated him. A most wonderfill person. My thoughts sure rest with him. THANKS Merril Richard Peck
