Betty Sue Davis

Springfield - Betty Sue (Jarrell) Davis was born on May 14, 1931, in Morrison, Tennessee, to William Clark and Leora Mae (Thaxton) Jarrell. She passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. While growing up in middle and east Tennessee, the family moved 13 times before she graduated from high school as her father found work during the Great Depression. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1949.

On July 1, 1950, she married her one and only love, Noel Everett Davis, in Rossville, Georgia. During their marriage they lived in Detroit, MI, Chattanooga, TN, St. Louis, MO, Pittsburg, KS and San Antonio, TX, before settling in Springfield, MO, where they have lived for 30 years. Their marriage was a true love story and they remained sweethearts through more than 67 years of marriage.

She was devoted to her family and loved them fiercely. She was a strong advocate for her children in their education from kindergarten through college. She is survived by her husband, Noel; her daughter, Marsha Burns; her son Terry (Vicki); her grandson Mike (Kelly); her granddaughter Laura; and her great- grandsons, Dylan and Lukas, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brothers Don (Connie) Jarrell, and Max (Roni) Jarrell, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Steve, Larry and Walter; and her son-in-law Fred Burns.

She was a long-time member of the Sunset Church of Christ where she served alongside Noel in various ministries. She loved her St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid fan of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team.

She was the heart of our family and we mourn our loss but rejoice in the knowledge that she is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
