Anita Stoner Davis

Lincoln - Anita Stoner Davis, 68, of Springfield, MO, passed away, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from complications of Alzheimer's disease at The Christian Village in Lincoln, IL.

Anita was born December 25, 1951, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Homer Eugene and Dorothy Virginia Womac Stoner.

She graduated from Logan-Rogersville High School in 1970 and earned her bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State University) in 1981. She was employed as an Assistant Public Relations Director at Drury University and left there to open her own business, Davis Graphics. Anita later worked as a Creative Services Supervisor in the Community Relations Department at St. John's Hospital (Mercy). Anita went on to earn a master's degree from Missouri State University in 2002. She then worked as an Assistant Director at Missouri State University-Center for Resource Planning and Management. She was a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church and volunteered many hours at the Springfield Nature Center. Anita enjoyed being creative and artistic, hiking, gardening, playing cards, spending time with her grandsons and family, and dreaming of living on the beach one day.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (husband, Scott) Jones of Springfield, IL; grandsons, Christopher Jones and Cooper Jones; siblings, Linda Stoner of Shawnee, KS, Judy Gann of Nixa, MO, Bob (wife, Jean) Stoner of Urbana, MO, and Patti (husband, Pat) Myers of Springfield, MO; niece, Heather (husband, Mike) Green of Nixa, MO, nephew, Bryon Stoner of Springfield, MO, niece, Chesney (husband, Patrick) Sallee of Kansas City, MO and niece, Candace Stoner, of Turners, MO; several great-nieces, numerous cousins and many friends.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Funeral services will be held at a later date due to Covid-19.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Processing Center, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or Great Circle - Parenting Life Skills Center, 600 S. Jefferson Ave., Springfield, MO 65806.
