Doris LaDonne Clinton Obituary
Doris LaDonne Clinton

Rogersville - On September 11 ,2018, Doris LaDonne Clinton, 88, graduated to heaven to join her Lord and Savior, and those she loved who passed before her.

LaDonne was born in Salem, Missouri on March 2, 1930 to Willie Dee and Lennie Shelton. To this union were born six other children: Alice Laverne, Jewell Dee, Gerald, Carol Ruth, Farrell and Allen. LaVerne, Farrell, Jewel Dee and Allen preceded her in death.

LaDonne grew up in Salem where she met the love of her life, her husband, Glen. To this union were born four children: Deborah Diane, DeWayne Glen, DaNell Dawn, and Dana Lynn. Her family was the joy of her life, and always her priority. She was a true southern woman who put hospitality first. If you were a guest in her home, you were well taken care of. She greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

LaDonne put God first and foremost in her life. She brought up her children to love the Lord. Everywhere she went, every interaction she had, she exuded the love of Christ. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church where she had many friends and longtime relationships.

LaDonne was preceded in death by her parents Willie Dee and Lennie Shelton, her husband of 69 years, Glen, infant daughter, Deborah, and her son, DeWayne.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, DaNell and Dennis Waddell of Willard, her daughter and husband, Dana and Bill Ice of Springfield, and daughter-in-law, Jan Clinton of Nixa. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to thank her church family, all of the friends and family who spent time with her during her progression to heaven, and her hospice nurse, Arlene, who gave her exceptional care.

Services will be held at Greenlawn East on Friday, September 14, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10:30 with a service to follow at 11:30. Burial will follow the service, where La Donne will be laid to rest with her husband, at 1:00, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO .

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to the Republic Church of the Nazarene.
