James "Jim" Ivy

James E Hugh Ivy, 67, Marshfield, the son of Ervin Clifford Ivy and Dorothy Suzanne (Dotson) Ivy, was born in Wright County, MO on November 9, 1945 and joined his heavenly Father on April 18, 2013.

Growing up, Jim lived in both Missouri and California. In 1963, he graduated from Hartville High School. Jim resided in Marshfield, MO for most of his adult life and worked for Tyler Pipe for 39 years, before retiring in 2010.

He enjoyed life and the company of family and good friends. Among the highlights were the hours spent fishing, traveling to Mexico, the Ivy Annual Fish Fry and horse racing (he was the co-owner of a thoroughbred.)

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ronald.

Survivors include Joyce, his loving wife of 32 years; three sisters, Sharon Snead and her husband, Jack, Visalia, CA, Barbara Richards, Mineola, TX and Maribeth Ivy, Quitman, TX; his mother-in-law, Leota Morris; his sister-in-law, Harriett Rice, both of Springfield. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and he loved in return, and a host of extended family and friends.

Jim was a hero to his three sisters throughout his illness. The family would like to thank the Chub O'Reilly Cancer Center and Mercy Hospital 7th floor, unit D, for their love and care of Jim.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Pastor Ean Hendrix officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Philibert Cemetery, Kimberling City, MO.

Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
