John Medley

Republic - John Thomas Medley, Sr. passed away February 17, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Springfield, Missouri to Elmer and Juanita Medley and retired from the United States Army.

He is survived by his significant other, Helen Adams; 2 children, daughter Tina (Scott) Scheidemantel of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and step son Billy (Amanda) Adams of Springfield, Missouri; 1 grandchild, Jordan Gleckler of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sister, Shirley Myers of Springfield, Missouri and family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John Thomas Medley, Jr.; and brothers Elmer Medley and Robert Medley.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, and was always willing to go for a spin on the go carts.

Tom served in the United States Army during the Vietnam and Korean wars.

Visitation for Tom will be held at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home February 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral following after at 11:30 a.m. Graveside military honors will be held directly after at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the DAV.
