Brookline - Louella Gold Wright Hilton Dulin

Louella Gold was born to Clarence and Virgie Mae Houser Gold in Hurley, Missouri on August 1, 1924. She lived most of her life in Stone County. The last few years of her life were spent in the Brookline/Battlefield area.

Louella graduated from Hurley High School in 1941 and the same year joined the Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church in Hurley. She was faithful to her church and its teaching for 77 years.

In October 1941 she married Harold Bell Wright, her childhood sweetheart, and the couple set up housekeeping on his grand-father's homestead east of Hurley. To this union a son, Stephen Earl Wright, was born. Harold was drafted into the army in August 1944. He was wounded in action, captured and died in a German prisoner-of-war camp in February 1945.

Louella then married Ralph William Hilton of Crane, Missouri and lived with him on their farm north of Crane for many years until Ralph's passing in 1967. To this union a daughter, Jeannie Sue was born in 1948.

In 1972 she married William Harold Dulin and they enjoyed many happy years together at their homes on James River east of Hurley and at Brookline until his death in 2006.

She worked at Wood Garment Manufacturing in Crane and later graduated from Blue Bonnet School of Cosmetology and operated her own beauty shop in Crane. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was very proud of having served as vice-chairperson of the 7th Congressional District Republican Committee during the 1960's.

Louella passed away June 10, 2018 at Crane, Missouri near where she lived, loved her family and worked for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three husbands, her brothers; Cecil Gold, James Ray Gold, Ellis Dale Gold, and Billy Joe Gold as well as her grand-daughter Missy Ellerman; two stepsons, Ralph Hilton, Jr. and David Dulin and one step grandson, Jeremy Dulin.
