Naomi Young, age 78, of Wheaton, MO passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Springfield, MO.

She was born November 13, 1938 in Wichita, KS to Tim and Dollie (Allen) McLeod. On May 23, 1959 in Newkirk, OK she was united in marriage to Bob Young who preceded her in death on September 27, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Margaret Watt and one brother, Jack McLeod.

Surviving are three daughters, Diane Jordan and her husband Mike of Topeka, KS, Yvonne Young of Columbia, MO and Carol Sue Williams and her husband Lance of Springfield, MO and two grandchildren, Caleb Jordan and Alicia Jordan.

Naomi grew up and received her education in Wichita, KS, graduating from North High School and then graduated from Friends University in Wichita. In 1965 she moved to Wheaton where she and Bob owned and operated Bob's IGA. For several years she worked for McQueen Funeral Home. She was a member of Pineville Christian Church and attended Wheaton United Methodist Church. Naomi was a member of Wheaton Senior Citizens, Grand Cross of Color, Celestial Chapter #81, Cassville, Order of the Eastern Star, a former member of Wheaton City Council and majority member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Wichita, Kansas.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Pineville Christian Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Bob Howard will conduct the services. Burial will be in Pineville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
