Rea Reid Obituary

Rea Wallace Reid, 77, Lebanon, co-founder of Shepherd Hills Factory Outlet Stores, passed away Monday, November 29, 2010, in his home.
He had three basic careers in his lifetime, the first as a civil service worker at Fort Leonard Wood, MO for a number of years, and then transferring to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, before retiring in 1980. Secondly, he and his wife, Ida, founded Shepherd Hills Gift Shop in 1972, incorporated with their sons, Rod and Randy, and expanded the company into a seven state operation. Thirdly, he turned to raising pure bred Angus cattle, establishing Shepherd Hills XX Cattle Company with his sons.
Rea was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Lebanon. He was a member of the Laclede County Masonic Lodge # 83 A.F. & A.M. in Lebanon since 1967, and was a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite through the Valley of Joplin.
Rea is survived by his wife, Ida, of the home; his sons, Rod Reid, and his wife, Becky, and Randy Reid, and Kathy Stamper, all of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Chris, Casey, Ryan, and Jennie; two great-grandchildren, Wynston and Jennissa; a brother, Rick Reid, and his wife, Sharon, St. Louis; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2010, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, with Rev. Marsha Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Masonic services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, in the funeral home with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m.
