John Charles Fairman

John Charles Fairman, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home in Klamath Falls, Ore. surrounded by family, on August 9, 2014. He was a giving, considerate man that was well loved and respected within his family and community.

He was born on September 21, 1927 to parents Judge John and Bea Fairman in Springfield, Mo. He served, honorably, in the United States Army Medical Battalion for a year, stationed in Japan just after the end of WWII. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State, with a degree in History and Political Science. He went on to work 40 years in organizational logistics and warehousing. He created trucking divisions for several companies, worked as a traffic manager, and taught university courses on Rates and Tariffs.

John married Carol Hill on February 15, 1952. They enjoyed 62 loving years of marriage and devotedly raised 3 children. He and Carol moved to Klamath Falls in 1997 to be near their grandchildren. He was very active in Christian churches wherever he lived, particularly the First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield, and the First Presbyterian Church in Klamath Falls, serving in various leadership roles including Deacon and Elder.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Francis Kaddah.

John leaves behind his wife and best friend Carol. He was extremely loving of his three children, Cindy Staunton and husband Marshall of Tulelake, Calif.; John Fairman and fiancé Elizabeth Sepulveda of Reno, Nev.; and Teri Eelkema and husband Pete of Portland, Ore. He was also very proud and devoted to his two granddaughters Courtney and McKenzie Staunton. He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Cary Kaddah and wife Jackie, Debbie Kaddah; Erin Martin and husband Danny, and Shannon Hill.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday August 23rd at First Presbyterian Church in Klamath Falls. Stuart Bond of FPC and Faith Marsalli of Friends Church will be officiating. A graveside in Springfield, Mo. will be held at a later date. O'Hair's Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to High Desert Hospice, Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center, or the . The family of John Charles Fairman wishes to thank Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center and Infusion Center, and High Desert Hospice for their loving and exceptional care.
