Evelyn Ann Simmerman
Springfield - Evelyn Ann Simmerman, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, MO. on January 22, 2018. Evelyn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 30, 1943, to the late parents of Brozie Elmore and Martha Mayhugh Elmore.
Evelyn lived in Joliet, IL until 1988 with her former late husband Donald Dean Simmerman and their 6 children. She then moved to Springfield, MO where she found her passion for helping terminally ill patients by working for Hospice in the capacity of a Palliative Care Assistant. She was loved by many. Her loving care was memorialized in the documentary 'The Last Days of Extraordinary Lives'. She had one brother the late Billy Elmore.
She is survived by Donald Simmerman Jr., Larry Simmerman, Laura Simmerman, Tracy Burgett, James Simmerman & wife Dawn, Amanda Aleshire, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and special friends Lila Becklund and Judy Pavey.
Funeral Service held at Charity Baptist Church, 2603 S Westwood, Springfield, MO 65807 January 27, 2018, 10am-11:30am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to local Hospice or Charity Baptist Church.
