Suzanne E. Hewitt, 65, of Lehigh Acres passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband, Dr. Robert G. Hewitt, her daughters Tracy L. Rogers (Jeff) and Shelly M. Williamson, her granddaughter Katie Rogers, and beloved dogs, Hannah, Maya, Greta, JoJo, and Benny. Suzanne was a graduate of Edison State College (formerly Edison Community College), and Hodges University (formerly International College) with an A.A. and B.S. degree in Business Administration. After retiring from G.E.C.B.S.I. in Fort Myers, she became an avid dog rescue advocate, helping to found Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida. Arrangements are being handled by Anderson Patterson Funeral Home in Lehigh Acres. As per her wishes there will be no formal services. Anyone wishing to send flowers are asked to make a donation to GRRSWF, Inc. instead. A memorial is planned for sometime in the immediate future.

Sue helped to introduce us to the golden rescue in SW Florida. Her love for the dogs was such a driving force that we felt compelled to become affiliated with this fine organization. We'll miss her greatly.
