Arnold "Arnie" Rosenthal

June 26, 2013

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather "Arnie" Rosenthal, 86, of Estero, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2013. He was born April 23, 1927 to William and Celia Rosenthal in the Bronx, New York City. His chemical engineering studies were interrupted by WWII, when he served in the Navy. Arnie ultimately graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He worked for Allied Chemical in Delaware and Consolidated Edison in NYC and retired to Estero.

Arnie became a passionate community activist for Estero and Lee County - protecting groundwater and championing impact fees to support our public schools. Among his accomplishments, he was the first recipient of the "Village Visionary Award" for being "Among the first to see [Estero's] future and lead us into it," past President of the Civic Association and former Honorary Mayor of Country Creek. Annie believed in "growth paying for growth" and the value of a good education. He was the Delaware state champion in playing bridge and loved playing golf and tennis.

Arnie is predeceased by his daughter, Deborah. His wife of 33 years, Janice, his daughter, Nettie, his 5 grand-daughters and his extended family and lifelong friends cherish the memories of his humor, wisdom, affection, and loving kindness.
