Obituary Condolences

August 29, 2012

Bette Gene Batill, 83, passed away on August 29, 2012 peacefully in hospice care comforted by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Bette was born in Denver, CO and lived in the Denver area until 1959. On February 14, 1947, Bette Gene Polichio married William John (Bill) Batill in Denver. Bette and Bill were married for 64 years and Bill preceded her in death in 2011. Bette was a homemaker, artist, seamstress, doll-maker and worked in a variety of administrative roles in a number of companies. She was known for the creation of handmade porcelain dolls that were sought by buyers across the country. She had a passionate love for animals and was a great cook. Bette and Bill enjoyed the outdoors and traveling and as Bill's career in advertising allowed for many moves, they lived in numerous cities in Colorado, Illinois, South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana and North Carolina prior to their retirement in Florida.

Above all, she was a great Mom! Bette leaves two sons and their wives, Stephen Batill (Jackie) and Anthony Batill (Judy); four grandchildren, Eric, Bridget, Nicole, Katelind; three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Elise and Nathaniel, a sister and her husband Marjorie Schwartz (Mark), her nephew, Adam, niece, Leslie and extended family and friends around the country.

In lieu of flowers, Bette would love to be remembered in prayer and with a smile; donations can be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Friends may sign the guest book at
