Fort Myers - Josefina (Josie) V. Rasalan died peacefully in her home in Fort Myers, Florida. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jess, of 52 years. Josie is survived by daughters, Maria (Terry) Boulton, Lynnette (Bill) Cooke, Maritess and Anne Marie (Howie) Feenan. She was also blessed with four grandchildren - Rebecca Boulton, Gabriella Boulton, Joseph Cooke and Nicole Feenan. Josie was 86 years old and lived a full and wonderful life, which began in Naga City, Philippines. After receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing at University of Pennsylvania, Josie began working at St. Luke's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan as a surgical nurse. In 1988, Josie and Jess permanently moved to Ft. Myers. She was so grateful for the generosity toward her family and her and always wanted to pay it forward. Josie quickly became a devoted member of her church, active in her community and to her last day, continued to enjoy competitive golf. Josie will be remembered for her warmth and compassion, which often included a home cooked Filipino meal. She always wanted people to feel at home.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd at the Church of the Resurrection Chapel in Fort Myers, Florida. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, immediately followed by a celebration luncheon at The Landings Club House. Angel's Place provides people-centered services, including homes and professional support, for adults with developmental disabilities. Josie's surviving daughter, Maritess, is a resident of Angel's Place.
