Linda S. Wyllie

Obituary

Linda S. Wyllie, 60, of Fort Myers passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2008 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born in Reading, PA on April 9, 1948. A graduate of Kutztown High School, Linda also attended Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.

After raising her family in Brigantine, NJ for fourteen years, She and her husband Brian moved to the Fort Myers area in 1990.

Linda was the manager and an instructor at Fabric Mart in Fort Myers for twelve years. She was a consummate seamstress and mentor to hundreds of local sewing enthusiasts. Linda was also a multi-talented artist who specialized in quilting, painting, and embroidery. She was an accomplished pianist and guitar player.

Linda and her husband spent the last several years remodeling houses where she was able to use her artistic and design talents to improve numerous houses in the Fort Myers area.

Linda was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, camping, traveling, and bicycling. She was also an avid hiker who hiked over 900 miles of the Appalachian Trail as well as numerous miles on many other trails. In the last eight years, Linda's greatest joy was spending time with her three granddaughters.

Linda is survived by her husband Brian and her mother Anna McLaughlin and Carl McLaughlin. Also her Aunt Barbara Steigerwalt and mother-in-law Elsie Moore, son Christopher McBride, son Michael McBride and his wife Jenifer and their three daughters Nikki, Alex, and Julie, all of Fort Myers.

A memorial service will be held at Hope Hospice at Health Park, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL on Sunday April 20th at 3:30pm
