ROBERT ROWLAND Obituary

Robert (Bob) Lee Rowland, 86 of Fort Myers, passed away at Hope Hospice, in Fort Myers, on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 with his wife and daughter by his side after a long battle with pancreatitis. Bob was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 21st, 1924 and was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Campbell and parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Rowland of Manhassett, NY. Frank had served in the US House of Representatives.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline, daughter Renee Rowland of Illinois, sister Betty Lou Brooks of Tampa and family Susie Malone of Tampa and Steve Malone of South America, sister-in-law Mida Loudenback of Springfield, OH, brother-in-law Herbeck Loudenback of Springfield, OH grandsons, Trevor Campbell of Carterville, IL, and Brooks Campbell of Herrin, IL and great grandson "Baby" Austin Campbell of Herrin, IL.
Bob was a member of the Araba Shrine Temple of Ft. Myers and also a member of the Jesters Court 170. He received his 50 year Masonic pin from Dayton, OH and volunteered for 17 years driving underprivileged children to the Lexington, KY Shrine Hospital who otherwise could not afford medical services.
He attended Ridley College in Canada, served in the Air Force during WW II and retired from Chrysler Corp. Bob and his wife Pauline were world travelers and were members of the Grace Methodist church in Dayton, OH.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Bob's memory to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Fl 33908.
