Marion Sanborn Obituary


Obituary

Marion T. Sanborn, 89, Cape Coral, formerly of Poinciana, FL, died February 20, 2002 at Alterra Clare Bridge of Cape Coral after a long illness. Marion was born November 28, 1912 in Pleasantville, New York, daughter of John C. and Katherine T. Smith of Pleasantville. She graduated from Wilson College, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania in 1935. Marion married her husband Edgar in 1941. She loved to travel on ocean going vessels and made several crossings of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans to join Edgar, a civil engineer, at his project assignments in foreign countries. Together, they established homes in ten of those countries. Marion moved to Cape Coral in 2001.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Edgar, of Cape Coral. Her niece, Sharon Alther of Pine Grove, Connecticut. Her nephew, Stephen Smith of Troy, New York, and Dorothy Smith, widow of Marion's Nephew, Stuart.

A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2002 at the Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL. 33908. Funeral arrangements by the Metz Chapel of Harvey-Engelhardt Metz Funeral Homes, Cape Coral.
