David Purgason Obituary
BROWNS SUMMIT — David Wesley "Purgy" Purgason, 16, of Browns Summit, passed away at his home, Monday, September 13, 2010.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Apples Chapel Christian Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
David was born October 31, 1993. He was a junior at Northeast Guilford High School and a member of the JROTC.
David is survived by his parents, Donald and Kathy Purgason, brothers, Jonathan Purgason, Jonathan Brande, paternal grandmother, Barbara Purgason, maternal grandparents, Margaret R. and Tal Yates, great-grandmother, Pauline Purgason. Included in his circle of family who will truly miss David are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronald Purgason and William R. Ratliff.
Though our hearts mourn this tragic loss, our souls rejoice over your all too brief time with us. Into the hands of our Lord and Savior, Psalm 23.
Memorial contributions may be made to Urban Ministry, 305 W. Lee St., Greensboro, NC 27406 or to the Humane Society of the Piedmont, 4527 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409 or to Family Service of the Piedmont, 902 Bonner Dr., Jamestown, NC 27282.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and other times at the home of Rick and Darlene Cook, 7823 NC 150 E, Browns Summit.
The family invites David's classmates to attend a candlelight vigil that will be held at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of Micaela Cook, 7823 NC 150 E, Browns Summit.

I remember a quiet little blonde haired boy that had a smile that would melt your heart. I had David in my kindergarden class at Madison. My heart is saddened by this tragedy. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I drove David's School Bus for the last 5 years and David was one of my BEST students I never had any problems with David. David was always very respectful an never bothered anyone.

My daughter went to school with your son. I can't begin to imagine the loss you feel and how difficult this is for you.
