REIDSVILLE — Deborah "Debbie" Moseley Sloop, 54, of 10618 NC 87 in Reidsville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 27, 2011 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 29, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
Debbie was born in Chatham County, NC on November 26, 1956 to the late David Lester Moseley and Kathryn Lambert. She was a member of Osborne Baptist Church in Eden and graduated from Morehead High School in 1975, where she was active in the girls chorus and dance team. She received her associates degree from Rockingham Community College and then attended UNC-G. Debbie loved the beach and was a collector of sea shells. She also loved to read. As a youth she was very active in the youth group at Osborne Church. Debbie was a camp counselor at the YMCA and the Opportunity Center. She was a "people person", always caring and giving to others. She was employed as a CNA.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Tommy of the home; daughter, Savannah of the home; and son, Dustin and special friend Brittany of Reidsville; step-son, James of Gibsonville; her mother, Kathryn Lambert Rodgers and step-father, Bobby Rodgers of Eden; one brother, Mark L. Rodgers and wife, Lisa of Stoneville; nephew, Jordan Rodgers; niece, Natalie Rodgers; aunt, Rebecca Welch; cousin, Pam Bouwer and husband, Adriaan; cousin, Jason Brown; her pet dog, Shiloh; and a host of friends and her country cousins.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arvil and Kate Lambert; paternal grandparents, Lester and Hilda Moseley; and a brother, David Lane Moseley.
The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice Home and special nurse, Misty and friend, Valerie for their love and care.
Visitation will immediately follow the service at Fair Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of Kathy and Bobby Rodgers, 224 Westerly Park Road in Eden.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
