Robert Sharpe Obituary
OAK RIDGE — Mr. Robert Sharpe, of Oak Ridge, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of life for Mr. Sharpe will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel.
Born April 27, 1924, Bob was a decorated (Bronze Star and Victory Metals), World War II veteran in the 85th Infantry Division of the Armed Forces.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Sharpe. Our Daddy and PawPaw is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bob Leaver, Beverly and Frank Henson, and Bobbie and Jay Gardner; grandsons, Evan Silos, Tyler and Nicholas Gardner; great-grandson, Billy Silos; sisters, Shirley Wauters, Loretta Byerly, and Carol Elliott; brothers, Bill and Don Sharpe; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to his caregiver, Sue Kelly. Also, we wish to thank the staff of Moses Cone Hospital and Dr. Terry Kersey.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
