Ronald Bruce Caricofe Ronald Bruce Caricofe,

64, of Woodbridge

passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

He was born in Harrisonburg on November 2, 1945, son of the late Bruce Helms and Lillian Blosser Caricofe.

"RC" lived his early life in Weyers Cave, near extended family and the Virginia landscape he always loved. A member of Massanutten Presbyterian Church, he graduated from Fort Defiance High School in 1964 and attended Bridgewater College before serving in the US Air Force. He lived in Northern Virginia for most of his adult life, where he worked in real estate, and later landscape management. Ron often returned to the Shenandoah Valley to enjoy its beauty and serenity.

He is survived by a son, Bradley Hunter Caricofe of Woodbridge, a daughter, Erin Elizabeth Caricofe of Columbus, OH, a brother, Richard Blaine Caricofe of Front Royal, and one nephew, Bryan Caricofe of Harrisonburg. They each miss and are inspired by Ron's loving selflessness, his appreciation for life's little pleasures, and his constant desire to be of help.

He will be cremated and a memorial service held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Massanutten Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Leggett officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association. Details on Ron's life and his memorial service are available at

Dear Brad and Erin - You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks to your dad we still live in the house he found for us in Dale City. Gloria and I will always remember his sense of humor and how much he loved his family. Brad, I know Ron was glad that you were able to help him in his later years. Erin, I am so glad you had a chance to talk to your Dad before he passed away. Remember he still lives in your heart and the memories you have of him. It was once said it is not the beginning or ending date but the dash between that is the most important. Take care, Tom, Gloria and the Bush family.

One thought that comes to me over and over is the love that Ron felt for each of you and the love that each of you had for him. Keep that love in your hearts and it will help you thourough this difficult time.
