LEONARD - Mildred Lotz , Resident of New Hyde Park for over 50 years, died peacefully February 1 age 96. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt; devoted friend, teacher and volunteer. Survived by loving daughters Lynda (Ralph) Confessore and Carol (Howard) Winklevoss, cherished grandchildren Christopher and Nicholas Confessore and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Francis, daughter Meredith Susan, granddaughter Amanda Winklevoss. Born March 31, 1910 Belle Harbor. Cherished seaside childhood with loving parents Gustav and Gesine Lotz, aunt Bertha Aldag, brother Harold, sister Edna; joined in eternal rest. Founding family Community Congregational Church of the Rockaways. Graduate Adelphi University, 1930; then a woman's college; graduate studies social work Fordham University, social worker. Moved to New Hyde Park 1948; later taught 4th grade at New Hyde Park Road School for 22 years. Founder, pillar Community Congregational Church. In retirement, 18-year volunteer, substitute teacher, Henry Viscardi School, pioneering educators of severely handicapped children. She found joy in family and friends and lived by the words of 1Corthinians:13. Her goodness of spirit will be forever with us. Memorial donations to Henry Viscardi School, 201 I.U. Willets Road, Albertson, NY 11507. Visitation 2-5, service 5-6, Sunday, Feb. 4, New Hyde Park Funeral Home, 516-353-8989. Internment 10 am, Monday, Feb. 5, Lutheran All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village, Queens.
