MOUNT CARMEL - Janice Fennessy, 74, of Mount Carmel, and formerly a Locustdale resident, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Fountain Springs, April 15, 1946, a daughter of the late James and Mildred Guinther Fennessy.
Janice was a graduate of the former Ashland Area Joint High School, Class of 1964, and McCann School of Business, where she attained an associate in business.
Janice was a member of the Grace Independent Evangelical Church, Locustdale, and was employed for 35 years as an office supervisor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Treasury Department, in Harrisburg. Following her employment in Harrisburg, she was employed as a ticket taker for the Pioneer Tunnel tourist attraction, in Ashland, until her retirement.
Janice is survived by two sisters, Sallianne Fennessy, of Enola, and Margaret Dobson, of Sun City, Arizona; her brother, John Fennessy and his wife, Susan, of Chesterfield, Michigan; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Janet; and a brother, James Fennessy.
