MOUNT CARMEL - Joseph J. Amrich, 87, of 132 S. Maple St., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born in Philadelphia, Feb. 5, 1933, a son of the late Theresa Amrich.
Joseph was a graduate of St. John's School, Mount Carmel, and the Mount Carmel High School.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He later worked as a postal worker for 22 years.
On April 14, 1966, in Heilbronn, Germany, he married Sieglinde Nickel, who survives. Together they shared 54 years of marriage.
Joseph was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion, AARP and the Association of the U.S. Army.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Sieglinde Amrich; three sons, Norman Amrich, Joseph Amrich and Andrew Amrich; two daughters, Regina Uth and her husband, Richard, and Joann Amrich; and three granddaughters, Madison, Avery and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Yuknavage.
