KULPMONT - Luke "Skip" Lapotsky, 85, of 360 Spruce St., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born at the former Ashland State General Hospital, March 6, 1935, a son of the late John and Mary (Cheppa) Lapotsky. Luke was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a graduate of the former Con-Cen High School.
Luke was married at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Centralia, Oct. 7, 1961, to Marie C. (Mekosh) Lapotsky, who preceded him in death Feb. 24, 1995.
Luke had worked for many years in coal sales and delivery before his retirement.
He was a member of Assumption BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Centralia.
He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, he liked to polka, attend block parties and never missed a Ukrainian Day Picnic, in Primrose. He also enjoyed going to the beach with his grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Anita LeClaire, of Chester Springs, and Debra Burd, of Kulpmont; three sons, Robert Lapotsky, of Kulpmont, Luke J. Lapotsky Jr. and his wife, Trish, of Lavelle, and Christopher Lapotsky, of Coal Township; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra, Matthew, Jacob, Tiffany, Haley, Katianna, Olivia, Krystof, Jada and Nastissja; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Fred.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
LAPOTSKY - Luke "Skip" Lapotsky, 85, of 360 Spruce St., Kulpmont. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Assumption BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Centralia, with the Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Hutsko, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor.
