SUNNYSIDE - Roseann J. Herr, 67, of Sunnyside, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville.

She was born April 3, 1953, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Dudeck) Shelbert.

Roseann was a graduate of Shamokin Area High School.

On Oct. 11, 1996, she married Barry Allen Herr, who preceded her in death July 19, 2017.

She was employed at Bob Rumberger State Farm Insurance, in Shamokin. Bob was her employer, as well as a close family friend for many years.

Roseann enjoyed her Tai Chi classes, shopping, going out to eat, feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard and taking care of her flower garden.

She was always laughing and smiling and in a happy mood. Roseann was always willing to help others. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Heather Derk and her husband, Michael, of Shamokin; two stepsons, Clint Herr and his wife, Sandy, of Elysburg, and Shawn Herr and his wife, Colleen, of Numidia; and four stepgrandchildren, Abbey Knepp and her husband, Austin, Jacob Herr, Erika Mittal and her husband, Sandeep, and Dylan Herr.

HERR - Roseann J. Herr, 67, of Sunnyside. Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, the funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ralpho Township Fire Co., 258 Overlook Blvd., Shamokin 17872. The Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with arrangements.

knew rose since high school. always had fun with her when I went to pay my insurance. now she's at peace and with Barry. from slick.
