William A. Woods, Sr.

Swoope - William Alexander "Alex" Woods, Sr., 76, husband of Linda Hope (Hunter) Woods, of Swoope, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Augusta Health.

He was born October 1, 1944 in Middlebrook, a son of the late Mary Elizabeth Woods.

Prior to retirement, Alex was employed by Southern States-Augusta Petroleum Cooperative with 20 years of service. He also worked for Dr. Pepper for 17 years.

In addition to his wife, family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Kevin Arehart; a son and daughter-in-law, Willy and Danielle Woods; two grandchildren, Hunter and Amber Arehart; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Revs. Dave Chappell and Denny Sites.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home.
