Hazel Jeffrey Obituary

Hazel Jeffrey, age 92, passed on to her new life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Nov. 17, 2012.
Hazel was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Elk City, Okla., to Jim and Edna Nelson. She married the love of her life, Edwin McSwain in 1939. After Edwin returned from the war, they moved to Amarillo, Texas. She lived there until moving to Fairbanks in 2002.
Hazel was a dear, sweet woman, always positive and concerned about everyone else.
She would go out of her way to help meet your need, whatever that would be. She had a strong faith in God, a beautiful voice, and always a kind and encouraging word.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Rebecca McSwain; her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Darrel Couch; step-son and his wife, Bill and Kim Jeffrey; grandchildren, Julie, Chris, Matt and Melissa; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her numerous friends and acquaintances with whom she generously opened up her heart and life.
Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin McSwain; her second husband, Don Jeffrey; and her sister and best friend, Mary Smith.
Arrangements have been provided by Chapel of Chimes. Internment will be in Amarillo, Texas at a later date.

Not sure what to say?

Aunt Hazel was a sweet lively woman who made everyone around her feel special. My family does and will fondly think of her often. (She became my aunt through marriage to my uncle, Donald Jeffrey.)
