Michael Terrence Williams Obituary
Michael Terrence Williams Sr., 33, of North Pole, died Nov. 15, 2012, in Fairbanks.
A visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 24, 2012, at Chapel of Chimes, 415 Illinois St., Fairbanks. A funeral service will be held in Milwaukee, Wis., on Nov. 28, 2012, where Michael will be laid to rest.
Michael was born Sept. 1,1979, to Jeffery and Carolyn Williams, in Milwaukee. He joined the United States Army in November 2006 and served on active duty until March 2010. Michael was assigned to Fort Wainwright where he and his wife, Stephanie, moved for this new duty station and a new adventure in their life. During his service, Michael was deployed to Iraq for one year. Michael received the following medals: Army Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon and Over Seas Service Ribbon.
After separation from active duty, Michael joined the Alaska National Guard and enrolled at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, to pursue a degree in professional piloting. He was looking forward to taking his FAA exam to become a helicopter pilot in the Alaska National Guard.
Michael was a fun and loving person to be around. There is not a person who knew him whose life he did not touch. His presence would bring joy and laughter to all those around him. Michael was an artist, leader, Green Bay Packers fan and a great friend. He was precise and multitalented in all that he applied his hands to do. He was amazing; you never had to show him how to do anything twice.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Stephanie Williams, and their two children, Malachi and Madalynn; and children, Michael Jr., Marquis, Mikala and Marquail. Also surviving are his parents, Jeffrey and Carolyn (Turner) Williams. Michael also leaves behind 13 siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Timothy Williams Sr., and maternal grandfather, Curtis Turner Sr.
In leu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Chapel of Chimes.
