Melissa Kay (Westfall) Dubia Obituary
Melissa Kay (Westfall) Dubia, of North Pole, passed away on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the age of 49.
Born on Feb. 12, 1968, in Janesville, Wisconsin, Melissa was the daughter of Arlys and Roy (Gene) Westfall, of Two Rivers, and David Mattson, of Challis, Idaho.
Melissa spent time in Wisconsin and California before moving to Alaska in the mid-1980s. Melissa was the middle sibling of Cheryl Westfall, of Two Rivers, and David Westfall, of Fairbanks.
Melissa graduated high school in 1986 and later attended a vocational school. Melissa was the office manager for the district attorney's office and was employed with the state of Alaska for 20-plus years. Melissa enjoyed her animals, various types of music, a good book, inspirational quotes, paintings, flowers and gardening, traveling, biking, cross-country skiing and helping others.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorothy Sayre, and grandparents Harvey and Elsie Mattson, and Leona Westfall. Melissa is survived by her two children, Kristi Hendrick (31) and Chayce Dubia (21), both of North Pole, along with her parents, siblings and many more family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at the North Pole Worship Center.
