Sorry to see Bill pass on. he and I shared a number of good hunting trips, especially to the Novi, as well as social gatherings. He was a good partner and always fun to be with, and will be missed.

We are saddened to here of the passing of Mr Copeland. We were lucky enough to meet him while we had our sailboat in Valdez in 2014/2015. He had a wealth of information and a knack for story-telling as is evident in the Providence story. May he Rest In Peace.

I worked for Bill at the Alaska Division of Lands in Fairbanks, many, many years ago. He was a wonderful boss and also a good friend. His lively and cheerful manner brightened up the whole office. You could always count on his great sense of humor. He worked hard, and managed the office in a way that was effective, sensible, and fair. This made it a great place to work. Bill was friendly and easy to talk to. We need more people like him. I will miss his presence on this Earth. My condolences to his family and friends.

We will remember Bill for his hospitality aboard Raven and his expert cruises aboard Lucky. As a captain, he inspired confidence on every charter because he read the weather, the water, the load and passenger comfort for ultimate safety. He also took meticulous care of his vessels. Bills stories were rich in detail and variety, entertaining and unforgettable. Our thoughts are with his family.

Bill was a fixture in the Valdez harbor and is greatly missed. He was a great story teller and his eyes always held a sparkle when he spoke of his sailing adventures in Prince William Sound, specifically his adventures with his family. Condolences and love to Bill's family and friends.
