Clifton Nelson Bagley
October 7, 1931 - June 22, 2022
Clayton, North Carolina - Clifton Nelson Bagley, 90, completed his earthly journey June 22, 2022. He proudly served our country for four years with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Clifton was a member of American Legion Post 71 and a member of Granite Masonic Lodge #191, A.M. & F.M., Clayton, NC. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Clifton is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha; son, Mark (Lori) Bagley of Matthews, NC; son, Glenn (Natasha) Bagley of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren; Rebecca and Holden Bagley of Matthews, NC; Olivia (Matthew) Williams, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Andrew (Ali) Bagley of Charleston, SC; brother, John (Dolores) Bagley of Clayton, NC; sister-in-law, Emily Bagley, Clayton, NC; great-granddaughter, Eloise Williams; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walton and Lucille Bagley; and brother, William Bagley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 4:30 until 6:00pm at McLaurin Funeral Home, Clayton, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton with Dr. John Allen officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health 426 Hospital Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577.
