As a younger lawyer in Smithfield, Jimmy was always available for advice on how to handle a matter in district court. As a former prosecutor, and then as a defense attorney he had great insight. Over the years in Smithfield, I really enjoyed getting to know him. He always had a kind word for me whenever and wherever I saw him. I am sorry for your loss, with my condolences to the family. I m certain that he will keep an eye on the Demon Deacons from above.

I send my prayers for comfort and peace to the family today and in the coming days as well. A wonderful man has left our presence but not our hearts. He will be missed...

If anybody could ever fairly be called a character, it would be Jimmy. Although I haven't seen him in years, we saw each other regularly in court for a long time. He always had a new joke or a good story to tell, and I loved seeing him get tickled. The man could feign indignation better than anybody I've ever known. I'm sure he could be a pill, but my memories of him always bring a smile. Rest easy, old friend, and root for the Deacons.
