Lope Max Diaz II Obituary
Lope Max Diaz II

June 10, 1976 - May 24, 2017

Lope Max Diaz II passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 24, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at Davidson United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 28 at 2pm.

Max served as an assistant district attorney at the District Attorney's Office in Mecklenburg County for 12 years. He earned a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University.

A native of Puerto Rico, Max was raised in Raleigh, where he developed a love for all things Wolfpack. A talented and respected prosecutor, Max fought for justice and cared about his community. At home, he loved spending time with his family, listening to music, and playing guitar.

Max is survived by his wife Jennifer and son Adam, parents Lope Max Diaz and Aixa Morales-Diaz, sister Aixa Diaz and brother-in-law Anthony Mague, grandmother Angeles Lopez, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ken and Gaylene Campbell, sisters-in-law Suzanne Fraser and Heather Campbell, and nieces Maddie and Lexi Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in Max's memory to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. Money raised will go toward brain cancer research, education, and life-saving treatment for patients.
