Louise Harward Ferrell, age 99 passed peacefully into Heaven on Thursday January 10th in the comfort of her home.

Born to Walter and Kimpie Yates Harward on April 27, 1919 Louise spent her life well into her 100th year in the Carpenter community nurturing and caring for her family, friends and neighbors.

She graduated in 1937 from the original Green Hope High School and furthered her education at Smithdeal Massey Business College in Richmond Va before marrying the love of her life Millard Matthew Ferrell. They were married for 66 years at his death having begun their marriage at the height of WWII.

A devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Louise leaves behind a legacy of love and lasting memories for her family. She was a lifelong member of Good Hope Baptist Church and spent many happy years as a teacher's aide at Cary Elementary.

She was inducted into the Order of St. Joan D'Arc an armored fraternity honoring spouses of servicemen and was also a Paul Harris Fellow having been the epitome of service above self.

Lovingly called "Weese" her precious grandchildren were a constant source of pride and joy and the highlight of her days. The added love she had for her nephews, niece and their families was immeasurable.

A celebration of Mrs. Ferrell's life will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday January 16th in the sanctuary of Good Hope Baptist Church officiated by Dr Tom Ogburn with interment at the church cemetery. The family will return to the Family Life Center for a visitation 2:30-4:00 pm.
