Martha Washburn Trull, 92, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2018. Born November 3, 1925, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of John and Cornelia Washburn.

Martha will be remembered for her gentle yet strong spirit. She volunteered throughout her life for many organizations in the Hartford and Chapel Hill communities. In 1993, Martha and her husband, Sam, retired to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They spent 12 years together at Carol Woods Retirement Community where they embraced the community. Martha remained at Carol Woods following Sam's death as North Carolina truly became her home.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel F. Trull, her brother, Richard B. Washburn and her cousin, Alice H. Kelsey. She leaves four children, David W. Trull, (Joyce), of Wethersfield, CT, Margaret Trull Waddington of Richmond, CA, Andrew P. Trull, (Tacie), of Bridgeton, NJ, and Nancy Trull Laughridge, (Jim), of Mooresville, NC. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Benjamin T. Waddington, Nathaniel W. Waddington, S. Andrew Waddington, Krysten Trull Williams, (Matt), Meghan Trull Zullo, (Vince), A. Seumas Trull, S. Tyler Johnson, (Liz), and E. Kelsey Wood, (Alex), as well as three great-grandchildren, Alex Waddington, Brayden Johnson and Capra Zullo. Martha is survived by her siblings, John M. Washburn, Jr. and Cornelia W. Frey, and eight nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express its most sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the tireless and compassionate care Martha received at Carol Woods as her health declined. Martha's energy has returned to the universe, but her spirit remains forever in the hearts and souls she touched during her lifetime.

A Quaker memorial service will be held at a later date in West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carol Woods Resident's Fund, 750 Weaver Dairy Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 or to .
