William Holbrook Obituary

Garner
William Paul Holbrook, 84, died Monday at his residence. He was a retired chemical engineer with Kaiser Aluminum. He also retired as executive director with The American Ceramic Society. William was a US Marine veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Candedo Holbrook; sons, Danny Alan Holbrook of Columbus, OH and Curtis Lee Holbrook of Southport, NC; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Kemper Holbrook.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00–2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603.

As a Past President and an ACerS Board member for many years, my wife and I spent so many hours with Paul and Barbara at his home, at ACerS headquarters and on various ACerS trips. We are sad that both Paul and Barbara have now passed! Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Jean, and his extended family. Jim and Mary Ann McCauley

I am saddened to hear of Paul's passing. During our professional years at ACerS we were good friends and I have many fond memories of our times together. He is missed.
