Agnes Dillingham Creech
March 1, 1924 - May 17, 2011

Agnes Louise Dillingham Creech, 87 peacefully passed away on May 17, 2011. She was born on March 1, 1924, in Carbon Hill, Alabama, to parents Novel Edward and Julia Dillingham.
Agnes moved to North Carolina as a child and attended Governor Morehead School for the Blind, and later graduated from East Carolina Teachers College (ECU). Agnes married Delton Creech and together started their family with daughter, Emerald. She loved music, playing the piano, travelling, cooking, reading and could tell a beautiful story.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Emerald and son-in-law Scott Haith, of Raleigh, and her niece Ann Russell, of Graham NC. Agnes will also be missed by her dear friends Bill and Marie Houghtaling, Shirley Stroud, Sheila Cox, Gayle Gertsch, Dolly Pierce, Sandra McCuller and R.D. Watson. She was predeceased by her first husband, Delton Creech, her second husband Ed S. Phillips, Jr. and her 2 brothers J.C. and Novel H. Dillingham.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. A Celebration of Agnes's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday May 20, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5060 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Memorial donations can be made to the Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607, or to the Alzheimer Society of NC, 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27609, in memory of Agnes.
