Jay Miller was a good guy and I am glad to have known him since fall of 1980 freshman year at ASU when I met him at PB Scotts Music Hall in Blowing Rock where he worked behind the bar. Over the decades of years on earth Jay was very kind always generous with his time and had a unique ability to understand others by giving of himself with his time ears attention and positive calm spirit when others around him were superficial judgmental.
Jay had a level headed understanding of life with a respect and appreciation of nature people and the order in which God intended things to be in this mixed up world on planet earth called the society of the human race. Jay was always in awe of the splendor of mother nature which is why he loved the High Country in the mountains of North Carolina so very much eventually moving back there permanently with his wife taking a job opportunity to work at Blue Ridge Rentals and buy their own home together.
I express condolences to his family, wife and all his friends.

Jay... Your smile lit up the CHS Class of 1978 & I am honored to have been your classmate. Since moving from Cary, our close knit very special class seems to always stay connected in some way. Your journey was shared with me through Steve Rhew & Beth Coble & for them I am so thankful.
My mom & I did not realize your sweet sister was Jill & brother in law was David Goodman..two very special people to both of us. We send our love & prayers to your family & peace in knowing you are with our Heavenly Father. God bless you my friend..I know you are painting the walls of heaven green & white... xo

Jay and Pat where the first two people I met when I moved to Raleigh, from that first day we became great friends. Jay had a very tight group and I was welcomed like one of the family. From taking me to my first Grateful Dead show to always allowing me to fall asleep in his recliner (no matter what time of day it was), I will always remember his smile, warmth and kindness. You will be missed my friend.

I have known Jay since we were in the same first grade class in Cary in 1966. We went through High school together then to the same college. I remember his charismatic personality and being a genuine good Guy. He was the type of person who everyone wanted to have as a friend. I'm sorry I lost touch with him over the years, but he had a lasting impression and will be remembered by all those who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Miller Family.
