Michael E. Bassett, 35, of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Danbury.
Mr. Bassett was born in Danbury, August 27, 1977, son of Gale (Macchiaverna) Bassett of Danbury and the late Frank J. Bassett, Jr. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School.
Mr. Bassett was a chef having been employed at various local restaurants. Most recently, McGuire's Ale House, Bethel. His hobbies included RC Auto Racing, Trap Shooting, Golf, Hunting and Fishing. He was a real sports enthusiast. In addition to his mother of Danbury, Michael is survived by two sisters, Jennifer M. Danieli and her husband, Christopher of Southbury and Heather Bassett of Danbury; a niece, Gabriella and nephew, Cameron as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:45 PM.

I knew Mike when he worked at Chucks and we had many mutual friends. I always enjoyed seeing him when are paths crossed. He was a kind soul. I was sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in peace.
