Bill was funny, extraordinarily active in his community, and possessed a huge heart, particularly where the interests of children were involved. I immensely enjoyed serving with him on Bethel's Park & Recreation Commission and with the Bethel Baseball Association. He was passionate about baseball, enhancing recreational activities for youth, and raising funds for the Jimmy Fund, where he was extraordinarily successful. He will be truly missed by his community, those he worked tirelessly on behalf of, and his friends.

I've played in many games from T-ball to the NFL, but have always remembered what u did for the Jimmy Fund & all those Little League/Babe Ruth tournaments that u put on.... when you would make all us young kids, feel like we were playing for the NY Yankees, with big crowds & announcing our names before the games & when we came up to bat :)
Bill, Thanks for all u did for me, my teammates & the all leagues/tournaments that u were involved in :) Today's youth sports could us more men/coaches like u, that put the kids best interest first, while making it fun !
I'll miss the lunches & talking sports with u @ Pete's Sake.... you'll never be forgotten, RIP Bill!

Babe Ruth Coach

Bill was a man of great wit and great wisdom. He was completely dedicated to Babe Ruth baseball and particularly the Jimmy Fund. He raised so much money in the effort to conquer children's cancer that it would be impossible to tabulate how many lives he positively affected.
Bill had a great sense of humor and very often left people laughing whether it was over a bite to eat at a restaurant or a more formal setting such as a baseball meeting.
Mr. Pullan was a patriotic American with great values and common sense. I always admired his courage in speaking out for what he felt was right and he never wavered in any of his convictions about life, politics, or baseball and how it should be played. Without question, his Love of the game brought great credibility to the town of Bethel and also the state of Connecticut whom he represented on a national level through Babe Ruth baseball.
My sympathies to his family, his friends, and the baseball community. I was just one of many coaches whose life Bill touched in a positive way through his advice and friendship.
The Danbury area has lost a true legend. Mitchell Park has lost its greatest ambassador. Rest in peace Mr.Pullan, a great era has ended.
