Barbara Keane Obituary

Barbara A. Keane Barbara A. Keane, age 72, of Danbury, beloved wife of Michael S. Keane, passed away at Danbury Hospital, on Monday, March 30, 2009. Barbara was born in Lowell, Mass., daughter of the late Richard P. and Josephine (Scullon) Griffin, Sr. She graduated high school in Worcester, Mass., and attended Worcester Poly Technical Institute. She worked for many years as a secretary for the former Unimation Company of Danbury and the Raetheon Company, of MA. She was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Eileen P. Gibbons and her husband, Donald of Wake Forest, N.C., Elizabeth A. Amber, and her husband Steven, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Brenda Keane, of Newtown; a brother, Richard P. Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Worcester, Mass.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Ancient Order of Hibernians G.D.I.C.C., P.O. Box 2297, Danbury, CT 06813.

It is never easy to loose someone as special as Barbara (my second mom). I will always cherish the memories I have of her, and all my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Our wonderful memories of her will always keep her alive in our hearts. We are all lucky to have had her in our lives.
