I had no idea that this dear lady had passed away. I've seen her interviews regarding her friend's disappearance, Kathleen Durst. I feel so bad that she passed and also that she didn't get to see a resolution to that situation. My condolences to her friends and family.

Gilbert's changed my life and she was still in high school. She knew my uncle Glenn, Danbury's Ice man. When she heard his niece was running for Treasurer of the DHS Class of 73, she came to my house and spent 3 hours helping me write my speech and telling me about how to succeed in high school. Together we came up with the line "if you support me, I'll support you". I won that election and it gave me the confidence I needed throughout my life. I never forgot her. Am sorry to hear of her passing and never got to tell her how much she impacted my life. Rest in peace Gilberte.

Dear Sarah, Fadwa and Elizabeth; just today I recounted lessons learned from your dear sister Gilberte. I learned so much from her as a college at The Center for Women and Families over a 12-year path we shared. I am so grateful to have known her and I am deeply for sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing your loss is shared and so many are thinking of you. Most Sincerely, Barb Alberts

I am so sorry to read of Gilberte's passing. I knew Gilberte professionally. I am an attorney in Fairfield and had regular contact with Gilberte through my advocacy work with the Center for Women and Families for several years back in the early 2000s or so. Gilberte was an undying advocate for women and children victims of domestic violence. I have not spoken or had any contact with Gilberte for several years but think of her fondly to this very day. Rest in Peace Gilberte.

Bunny and I were born on the same day, same year, same hospital. We lived, played, and grew up as next door neighbors. We did everything together, day after day, year after year. In my heart, Bunny and I will always be at Shea Stadium seeing our Beatles. Much Love and Peace to Gilberte's family and friends. Her Beauty, Strength, and Spirit will forever be with you. Namaste

Sad news indeed. I haven't been in touch with Gilberte in years, but it seems like only yesterday that we were friends growing up together in Danbury. My thoughts go to all those still close to Gilberte as I'm sure you will miss this very special person.

Gilberte's and my sister Sara, born on the same day.
Dear Andria and all the Najamy sisters,

I don't know where to begin, except to say how sorry I am. Gilberte and I hadn't seen each other in awhile, but we kept in touch with occasional email and Christmas cards. I have a ton of memories of her from our early days on Putnam Drive and into our 20s and 30s.

I will write more and post to my website. Feel free to email me.

Gilberte, I love you.
